Karon A. Bolden, 72, of Kendall died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020, at Crest View Nursing Home in New Lisbon. 

She was born June 1, 1948, to Neil and Dorothy (Drawver) Bolden in Sparta.  She was a member of the Royall High School graduating class of 1968. On Feb. 24, 1968, she was united in marriage to Eugene Hawes at Evangelical Free Church in Kendall. 

Karon was a hard worker and worked on the farm and was a full-time mom. She was an excellent bowler and played in league; she also was great softball player. She was always outdoors, fishing as much as she could and feeding the deer.  She was member of the Evangelical Free Church in Kendall.  Her five children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life.  They will always remember her spunkiness and all her visits.  Karon had a loving and tender heart and will be missed by all who knew and love her.

She is survived by her five children, Terri (Thomas Jr.) Bean of Sparta, Tonia (Richard) Hale of Mauston, Trish  (Jim Steimitz) Gorn of Kendall, Eugene (Lauren) Haws of Tomah, and Tabitha Parker of New Lisbon; 13 grandchildren, Michael Thomas Melde, Christopher (Leianna) Melde, Thomas Bean III, Mercedez Lewis, Owen Lewis, Blayne Lewis, Aerial Hale, Jr. Hale, Olivia Gorn, Kaitlyn Hawes, Elizabeth Haws, Arabella Hawes, Alyssa Hawe, Samantha (Jake) Murphree; five great-grandchildren, Izabella and Kynzlee Melde, Elliana, Landen, and Brennen Melde; and many brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Thomas Bean Jr.; a grandson, Michael Thomas Bean; and many brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

A private memorial service will be Monday, Dec. 14, at Evangelical Free Church, 104 E. Hall St., Kendall.  Pastor Robert Washak will officiate.  Burial will be in the Glendale Cemetery.

A public visitation for relatives and friends will be at the Smith-Nelson Funeral Home, 112 E. South Railroad St., Kendall, from 12–2 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.sonnenburgfamilyfh.com. The Smith-Nelson Funeral Home of Kendall is assisting with the arrangements.
