Wilton/Brookwood FFA blood drive set for Saturday

By NALANI BEVER | Wilton blood-drive coordinator

Hey, all you Falcon fans, get up off your hands!

Support your school by making an appointment to donate blood this Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Wilton Community Center. The FFA Scholarship Fund will benefit from each unit donated. The goal is 100, and the hours of collection have been extended to 1 p.m. to accommodate such a hefty goal, so there shouldn’t be any reason for you not to come and donate.

Walk-ins are welcome, but it would be most helpful if you were to make an appointment. How do you do this? Visit redcrossblood.org and enter Wilton’s zip code of 54670 or the sponsor code “FFA” to find the drive. You will then be able to see the available appointment times and schedule your appointment. You may also call the Red Cross at 1 (800) 733-2767, and the operator will assist you. You are welcome to call Nalani Bever at (608) 387-2311. If she doesn’t answer, leave a message with your name and a couple times that would work for you. You will receive a return call.

There continues to be a severe shortage of blood. If you can’t motivate yourself to help the scholarship fund, why not donate a unit of blood as a Christmas gift to a friend or family member? It won’t cost you even a slim dime, and what better way to honor an important person in your life.
