Wildcat Mountain State Park near Ontario will offer the following programs in June.
• 9–11 a.m. Saturday, June 1 — Fly-fishing demonstration at lower picnic area.
• 7 a.m. Saturday, June 8 — Birding walk starting at ice-cave lot.
• 7 p.m. Saturday, June 15 — Music in the Park with Steve Lankford (bluegrass mixed with old country). Performance will be at the amphitheater.
• 5 p.m. Saturday, June 22 — Shakespeare in the Park’s performance of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the amphitheater. 5 p.m. workshop and 7 p.m. show.
• 7 p.m. Saturday, June 29 — Music in the Park with Ryan Meisel. Meisel plays a variety of instruments and seeks to blend spiritual currents into his music.
All programs are free, although a 2024 park sticker is required for all vehicles in the park.
There is road construction on Highway 33 leading to the park through June, and the official highway detour reroutes individuals via La Farge. Highway 33 is closed to through traffic, but the park is still accessible to individuals who want to visit the park. Visitors are encouraged to contact the park office at (608) 337-4775 to ask about the best route to the park depending on the current construction status.
