Psalm 66:16 — “Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.”

What would you have to say about what God has done for your soul? In Psalm 66, the Psalmist reflects on a previous time of trouble (:14), when he cried out to God (:17), and God heard his prayer (:19) and met his need. Whether you realize it or not, you are made in the image of God and you are a living soul (Genesis 2:7).

Our Lord Jesus Christ posed two serious questions. Mark 8:36, 37 — “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” If you lose your wallet or your car keys, it will be an inconvenience, but life goes on. Yet to lose your soul is to die outside of God’s salvation in Christ and go to a lost eternity.

Jesus went on to say in Mark 8:37, “Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”

How is it with your soul? We read about our hope in Jesus Christ as our Savior in Hebrews 6:19, “Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul.” There is only one solid rock to which to anchor our soul, and it is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Oh, we need to put our trust in Him as our Savior, and then live our lives looking to Him daily in all things. As you do, there will be troubles and trials, yet how wonderful to see the living God work in our lives.
