Wayne Allen Cole, 75, of Ontario passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at Morrow Memorial Home in Sparta, with family by his side.
Wayne was born July 4, 1938, to Fred and Lillian (Bowen) Cole in Iowa. He lived his life as a farmer and an over-the-road truck driver. When he left the road, he served as the local mechanic’s assistant in Ontario for many years. Wayne also enjoyed classic country music, old Western movies, and books by his favorite author, Louis L’Amour. Wayne’s favorite activities in life were hunting and fishing. He was married to Cheryl Moran on Aug. 10, 1996.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Cheryl of Ontario, and his seven children, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He also has five sisters and three brothers, six of whom survive Wayne, along with many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Grace Community Church in Ontario. Following visitation, a graveside service will take place in Billings Creek Cemetery, rural Ontario, at 1 p.m. The Torkelson Funeral Home of Ontario is assisting the family with arrangements.
