Verone I. (Walters) Markgraf, 92, of West Bend, Wis., was called to her heavenly home Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at Ivy Manor of West Bend.
She was born Feb. 20, 1922, in Kendall to the late Elmer and Irene (Sutcliffe) Walters. She graduated from Kendall High School in 1939. As a young lady, she worked in the surrounding areas and then moved to Madison and worked as a sales lady.
Following her marriage to Glenn Markgraf on Aug. 27, 1947, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kendall, the couple settled in West Bend.
Verone was a full-time wife and mother. After 55 years of marriage, Glenn passed away Sept. 13, 2002.
Survivors include James (Donna) Markgraf of Campbellsport, Wis., Nancy (William) Bloor of Kendall, and Diane Scheid (DeWayne Fritz) of West Bend; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Glenn; her granddaughter, Shelly Markgraf-Schultz; and two brothers, Glenn and Everett Walters.
Private funeral services will be at Glendale Cemetery in Kendall on Saturday, Oct. 11. Memorials may be sent to St. John’s Lutheran Church of West Bend. Markgraf.
