Monday, July 13: At about 10:18 p.m., Annie Riffey of Hillsboro was traveling westbound on County Highway EE in the town of Greenwood when she hit a calf that was in the middle of the roadway. Riffey did not report any injuries. The vehicle had disabling damage, and the calf did not survive.
Monday, July 13: Two horses were reported loose on Highway 56 in the town of Harmony. The owner was contacted.
Wednesday, July 15: A Holstein cow was standing in the road on Highway 82 in the town of Viroqua. The owner was notified.
Wednesday, July 15: A black cow was reported loose in Firemen’s Park in the town of Hillsboro. The cow was not located after the call.
Wednesday, July 15: Another black cow was reported walking on County Highway J in the town of Franklin. When the area was checked, the cow could not be located.
Saturday, July 18: About eight head of cattle were on Highway 56/Deaver Lane in the town of Viroqua. The owner was notified.
