The perimeter around the incident scene has been established by law enforcement and we continue to be involved in communication with the occupants at the residence. Per Sheriff Torgerson, the community is not in danger.”

From Norwalk-Ontario-Wilton School District Superintendent Travis Anderson (11:23 a.m.): “We have been assured by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office that we are not under any danger; however, I have decided to take extra precaution and keep all the kids who are here in the building today as well as monitoring our school grounds extra carefully. If anything changes, the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office is supposed to notify us immediately.”

A message from the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office (9:01 a.m. Monday): “The Sheriff’s Office and other agencies responded to a call of shots fired at a residence on Hoff Valley Road, rural Ontario, WI. A perimeter has been established and this has been contained to a small area. We will keep you informed.”
