Vehicle rear-ends Amish buggy in rural Hillsboro

A vehicle rear-ended an Amish buggy Sept. 16 on Highway 33 near Township Road in rural Hillsboro, according to the Vernon Sheriff’s Office.

Casey McQuade, 45, of Amery, Wis., was traveling west on Highway 33 when he struck the buggy, which also was going west. The Vernon County Dispatch Center received notification of the accident at 5:55 p.m.

The Amish buggy had had five occupants: Titus Yoder, 30; Rebecca Yoder, 25; and their three children. Sustaining non-life-threatening injuries, the Yoder family was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hillsboro. The Hillsboro Fire Department, the Hillsboro Ambulance Service, and the Elroy Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
