Sponsorship and memorial donations sought for Norwalk’s flower baskets

Contributed by Norwalk Rails to Trails Committee

One of the highlights of driving through Norwalk in the summer are the flower baskets hanging from the light poles and in the planters lining the street.

A sign near Main and Railroad streets recognizes donors to the project.

These indicators of summer have been sponsored by the Rails to Trails Committee for about 20 years. In an effort to continue to enhance Main Street, sponsorships and memorial donations are being sought.

Sponsorships may be made by businesses or individuals, and memorial donations can be done to honor someone of significance to the donor.

The contribution of $50 will be recognized on a sign near the corner of Main and Railroad streets. There are a total of 22 containers, and if the number of donors surpass this amount, additional funds will be used to develop the plantings in the Norwalk Village Park.

Donations are due by Wednesday, March 1. To make a donation or for additional information, contact Barb Ornes at [email protected] or call (608) 797-7873.
