Sharon L. Dopson (Markgraf), 72, of Tomah, Wis., formerly of Kendall, Wis., passed away steady and peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Cranberry Court in Tomah, where she moved in 2016. She was born on April 26, 1949, to Phil and Dorothy Markgraf.

Sharon met Larry Dopson on a blind date and was later united in marriage to him on April 4, 1970, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kendall, Wis. Sharon had a good life and loved to do crossword puzzles and go to Walmart to shop. She worked at Holiday Inn and Steam-A-Way in Tomah. She also took care of her three sons and took in her husband’s twin sisters, raising them as if they were her own.

She is survived by her three sons, Tim Dopson of Tomah, Todd (Jen) Dopson of Reedsburg, Wis., and Tony (Brandi) Dopson of Tomah; her two sisters, Kathy Friday of Tomah and Judy (Ed) Terpstra of Delavan, Wis.; a brother-in-law, Frank Callaway of Readstown, Wis.; a grandson, Jordan Panna; and three granddaughters, Natalie Dopson, Katelynn Dopson and Lexi Dopson.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Phil and Dorothy; her husband, Larry; a sister, Myrna Callaway; a brother-in-law, Roger Friday of Tomah; along with her father and mother-in-law, one sister-in-law, and two brothers-in-law.

A visitation for Sharon will be Monday, March 21, from 12–2 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Private burial will be held at a later date in the Brush Creek Lutheran Cemetery in rural Ontario, Wis. The Torkelson Funeral Home of Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements.
