Ruth Schumann, 99, passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024, at Milestone Senior Living.
Ruth was born Nov. 27, 1924, to John Campbell and Eva (Nesvacil) Bredehope. She was united in marriage to Dean Schumann on Oct. 18, 1947. Dean preceded her in death Nov. 10, 2013.
Ruth will always be remembered for her kind heart and love of family. Many nieces and nephews were welcomed to spend time at her home. All will remember the nightly bowl of ice cream! Reading stories and playing games with the grandchildren was a great joy for Ruth.
Ruth is survived by three children, Michael (Vickie) Schumann of Reedsburg, Steven Schumann (Deb Wood) of Elroy, and Vicki (Roland) Koenig of (Elroy); seven grandchildren, Kate, Timothy (Megan), Luke (Amanda), Lance (Christa), Nikkole (Tommy), Jennifer (Eugene), and Gregory (Megan); and seven great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Mae, Willa, Logan, Lane, Beatrix, Noah, Hunter and Abigail. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, 297 E. South Railroad St., Kendall. Pastor Zachary Meier will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. Relative and friends are invited for a time of visitation on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
