Rose Mary Flock, 76, of Sparta passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.

Rose was born Nov. 30, 1938, to Norbert and Elaine (Schotten) Hyatt at St. Mary’s Ridge, Monroe County, Wis. On June 13, 1959, Rose was united in holy matrimony to Jerome Flock; he passed away in 1984. On July 5, 1997, Rose was united in marriage to Richard Flock. Rose worked for Jelco, did housekeeping and had an in-home daycare. She later went on to work at Northern Engraving. She was employed there for 20 years and reached retirement 11 years ago. 

Rose was an amazing artist when it came to working with wood. She and Rich teamed together, making cabinets, doors, frames and shelves, all with very intricate styles. She was also a great seamstress. Rose loved her children and grandchildren very much. She tried to attend every sporting event and school function that they were in; she was a very devoted mother and grandmother.

Rose is survived by her husband, Rich of Sparta; three children, Michael (Sheri) Flock of Sparta, Douglas (Kerry) Flock of Cashton, and Tricia (Paul) Meyer of Sparta; nine grandchildren, Brandan and Bryant Meyer, Helen Flock, Josh Bouchette, Hayley (Tyler) Kuehl, Becky (Myron) Erickson, Mallory (Jesus) Ramirez, Lacy (Craig) DeBoer, and David Roberts; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Yvonne (Ormand) Mack of Norwalk, Carol (Jim) Vieth and Judy (Robert) Van Kirk, all of Sparta; one brother, James Hyatt and Betsy of Norwalk; two sisters-in-law, Judy Hyatt and Janis Hyatt, both of Norwalk; an aunt, Shinobu Schotten; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome; her parents, Norbert and Elaine; an infant sister, Alice Hyatt; and two brothers, Roger Hyatt and Reginald (Dyanne) Hyatt.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sparta. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4–7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, with a 7 p.m. rosary, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sparta. Visitation also will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. The Torkelson Page-Smith Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
