Rodney Reinhardt Fick, 78, of Oro Valley, Ariz., passed away Nov. 3, 2023.
Rodney was born March 9, 1945, to Alden and Evelyn Fick of Hillsboro, Wis. He proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966 and continued his service in the U.S. Army National Guard until his retirement in 2006.
During and after his military service, Rodney worked at General Motors from 1966 to 2006. After retirement from GM, Rodney obtained his Airframe and Powerplant Certificate and worked as an aircraft mechanic. He also served as a helicopter pilot instructor for the U.S. Army at Fort Rucker, Ala.
Rodney is survived by his loving wife, Sharon, and their two sons, Jeff (Tania) of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Jason (Michelle) of Oro Valley. He was a beloved grandfather to his grandchildren, Tia, Madison, Sofia, Jacob, Jackson, and Joaquim, as well as to his great-granddaughter, Chase. He also is survived by his brothers, Gordon (Sandy) Fick of Tomah, Wis., and Albert (Delores) of Hillsboro. Rodney’s presence in their lives will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will not be held at this time. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family kindly requests that contributions in Rodney’s memory be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
