Robert “Bob” L. Pitkin, 67, of Cashton passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at his home.
He was born Sept. 27, 1944, to Edgar and Ruth (Nelson) Pitkin in Hillsboro. Bob served in the Navy and was a plank owner BT3 on the USS Richard E. Byrd DDG23
He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Cashton; his mother, Ruth Olson of Ontario; his children, Bobbi Jo (Arnie) Muenzenberger of Sparta, Chrystal (James) Lutz of Cashton, Marvin Pitkin of Sparta, Ronnie (Clarissa) Pitkin of Cashton and Delia Pitkin of La Crosse; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother, Gerald (Terry) Pitkin of Hillsboro; a sister, Pamela (James) Fuchsteiner of Eau Claire; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and his Navy friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Faith Independent Baptist Church in Ontario. Pastor Michael Gjefle will officiate. Burial with full military honors by the Ontario American Legion will be at Hilltop Rest Cemetery, Ontario. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 4–8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Cashton and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
