The 14th annual Kickapoo Reserve Dam Challenge event will be Saturday, Oct. 1, near La Farge.
Event organizers advise area residents to expect a busy day with about 400 racers paddling seven miles down the Kickapoo, biking 15 miles on country roads, and running three miles on KVR wooded trails.
To enhance safety, the intersection of County Highway P with the Old 131 Trail to the intersection with Weister Creek Road will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the race (about 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Detour maps will be handed out to members of the public as they approach the closed portion.
