Paul Nevin, 73, of Ontario passed away on Friday, Jan. 21. 2011, at Vernon Manor in Viroqua.

He was born June 15, 1937, to Lawrence and Louise (Laufenberg) Nevin. On May 10, 1958, he married Joan Mack at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Summit Ridge, rural Norwalk.

In 1988, Paul retired from American Motors/Chrysler after 30 years. He and Joan lived in Lake Geneva, Wis., until his retirement, and then they moved permanently to their farm near Ontario. Paul was a hard worker and always had a part-time job to go along with his full-time employment.

Paul was happy keeping his life simple. His faith was always important to him, and he was very pleased that he received all of the sacraments. His family was what he cherished most of all. Family gatherings and friends and relatives stopping in at the farm for a visit made Paul’s day brighter.

Paul is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joan of Ontario; five children, Scott (Gina) Nevin of Lake Geneva, Wis., Connie (Dennis) Franzen of Hanover Park, Ill., Teresa Nevin (David Stone) of Jefferson, Wis., Dan (Lori) Nevin of Delavan, Wis., and Chris (Liz) Nevin of Elkhorn, Wis.; six grandchildren, Jason Loma, Luke, Rachel and Shane Franzen, and Ellie and Paul Nevin; one brother, Dean (Carol) Nevin of Wilton; two sisters, Joyce (Jack) Rabato of Beaver Dam, Wis., and Pat (Glen) Green of Fort Atkinson, Wis.; two brothers-in-law, James (Barbara) Mack of Norwalk and Ormomd (Yvonne) Mack of St. Mary’s Ridge; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Ontario. Burial followed at the Hilltop Rest Cemetery, Ontario. Father Keith Kitzhaber officiated. Online condolences may be offered at www.torkelsonfuneralhome.com.
