Our adult summer reading program (18-plus) is underway. Pick up a bingo board at the library and complete the activities to be entered to win fabulous prizes. Boards must be returned to the library by Monday, Aug. 29.

We would like to extend a thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual Hat Luncheon. Thank you for supporting the Ontario Public Library! We would also like to thank Wilmer Pearson for hosting and preparing the meal and all of the volunteers for assisting during the event.

We are hosting a teen photo contest from Aug. 1–26. The theme is “End of Summer.” The contest is open to participants entering grades seven through 12. Entry limit is one photo per person. We are accepting only online submissions (title photo with “first name/last name” format – ex. “JaneDoe.jpg”). Please send your submission to ontlibr@wrlsweb.org. The Ontario Public Library is one of seven public libraries in Vernon County participating in the sixth annual Vernon County Reads program! The featured author for 2022 is Sue Berg. We encourage you to read Sue’s books this summer and participate in a book discussion at the library on Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 2 p.m. The final event of Vernon County Reads program will be Thursday, Aug. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Hillsboro Community Center. Sue Berg will speak about her mystery series during the event. She will also have her books for sale including the third book in the “Jim Higgins” mystery series.
