Norwalk Rails-to-Trails group meets Sunday

Contributed by the Rails-to-Trails Committee

The Rails-to-Trails Committee will have its annual meeting Sunday, May 7, at 6 p.m. at the Norwalk Public Library.

There are opportunities for new people to assist and volunteer in the various planning stages and facilitation of the events sponsored by this organization. Time commitment can vary depending on the individual’s availability.

Rails to Trails began in 2007 as a Boston Marathon qualifier, but now includes a one-mile fun run, a 5K, and a half marathon. Several different groups and tons of volunteers from the surrounding community, along with a scenic route and 3/4 mile tunnel, make this a unique marathon experience. We are proud to say that 100% of the proceeds are donated back to the surrounding communities.
