Norbert “Nub” Baus, 90, of Cashton passed away at Hillview Healthcare Center in La Crosse on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, surrounded by his loving family.

Norbert was born May 20, 1919, to Christ and Katherine (Flock) Baus on St. Mary’s Ridge.  Norbert and Annabelle Hauser were united in holy matrimony Nov. 19, 1940, and they were married for 53 years, until she passed. Norbert farmed for more than 40 years and later worked in construction. He loved a good story, of which he told many, almost as much as he loved playing cards. He will be missed by his loving family.

Norbert is survived by a special friend, Millie Lundsten of La Crosse; his four children, James Baus, Connie (Frank) Jeffords and Teri (special friend, Bud Greenbush) Baus, all of Onalaska, Wis., and Dennis (Paula) Baus of Holmen, Wis.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Parsons of Janesville; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Norbert was preceded in death by his parent; his wife, Annabelle; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon (Robert) Von Ruden; one brother, Lambert Bause; and three sisters, Leona Baus, Loretta Schmitz and Evelyn “Peg” Brandau, who passed away Feb. 8, 2010.

A Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, Feb. 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cashton. Father John Parr officiated.  Burial followed in the church cemetery.
