Ken Manning, Norwalk-Ontario-Wilton Elementary School principal, died Dec. 26 at age 68 due to a sudden health condition, according to N-O-W School District superintendent Travis Anderson.
Classroom teachers will have a conversation with students when they return to school this week, and guidance counselors will be available.
Manning began his tenure as N-O-W elementary principal in the summer of 2023. Prior to that, he had been in education for 40 years, serving as a principal, agriculture teacher, guidance counselor and wrestling coach.
A memorial service for Manning will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at Brookwood High School, 28861 Hwy. 131, Ontario. Pastor George Shick will officiate. A visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. the day of the service.
Vosseteig Funeral Home and Crematory in Westby is assisting with arrangements.
