Vernon County police today arrested David J. Meboe, 33, of Muscoda, Wis., for several retail thefts in Ontario and La Farge since Aug. 15.
Meboe would enter the stores and take alcohol-related items without paying for them, according to police.
The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office received retail-theft reports at 6:06 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, in La Farge; 8:01 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, in La Farge; and 7:18 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, in Ontario.
Police located Meboe in Ontario at 8:43 a.m. today; the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office took him into custody.
Charges will be sought through the Vernon County District Attorney’s office for theft and bail-jumping charges. Meboe also was wanted by the Department of Corrections.
He was taken to the Vernon County Detention Center.
