In honor of May is Mental Health Awareness Month, the Suicide Prevention Task Force, the Mental Health Coalition, the Safe Community Coalition, and the Nutrition Coalition will be host their Mental Wellness Fair from 2–6 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at Mueller Square in Sparta.

The purpose of this event is to raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention and to provide resources to the community. In 2023 there were six documented suicides in Monroe County.

During the Mental Wellness Fair, there will be music, root beer floats and popcorn, booths provided by local organizations, activity spin wheels, and opportunities to win prizes.

If you are interested in providing a prize or want to learn more about this event, email April Anderson at april.anderson@wisc.edu. If you are interested in joining any of the sponsoring coalitions, go to the Monroe County Health Department’s website and look under “Partnerships.”
