Mark A. Thorson Jr., 45, of Wilton passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024, surrounded by his family, at the Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wis., after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Nov. 29, 1978, to Mark and Sue (Wehling) Thorson Sr.

Mark graduated from Royall High School in Elroy and went on to build a fulfilling career as a maintenance supervisor at Cardinal IG, where his dedication and work ethic were evident to all who worked alongside him.

In 2007, Mark met the love of his life, Jennifer Haugh, and they married in 2018, creating a loving home and a blended family that was the center of his world. Together, they raised their children, Derek (Michelle) Osmond, Bret Thorson, Kylie Thorson, Aubrey Thorson, Mark Thorson, Joege Thorson, and Ellie Thorson. Mark was a proud grandfather to Ava DeWitt, Mariah DeWitt, Lillian Osmond, Paisley Osmond, Laila Osmond, Hudson Osmond, Luahna Peterson, and Miles Peterson.

Mark was a man of many passions. He was an avid video game enthusiast, a dedicated Marvel and WWE fan, and had an exceptional ability to find humor in every situation. His laughter was contagious, and he was always the one to lighten the mood, bringing joy to those around him. Mark was the classic “big teddy bear,” with a heart as large as his frame, always ready to offer support and a listening ear to family and friends.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Jenny; his loving children and grandchildren; his parents; and his sister, Amy Iverson, who will all cherish his memory and the legacy of love he leaves behind.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents.

His impact on the lives of others was profound, and he will be remembered for his funny, kind, and loving nature. Mark’s presence could light up a room, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A Celebration of Mark’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 29, at 1 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. The Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements.
