Margaret A. McDonald, 89, of the Hillsboro and Ontario areas passed away Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at Vernon Manor in Viroqua.
She was born Feb. 24, 1920, to Joseph and Mary (Hofrichter) Pisha in the town of Forest, Vernon County. Margaret was united in marriage to Thomas J. McDonald on Nov. 15, 1955, at St. John’s Catholic Church at Dilly. They farmed in the town of Forest for many years before moving to Ontario in 1982. Thomas preceded her in death Sept. 13, 1999. Margaret was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at Mount Tabor and the Ladies Altar Society; she was also a member of the Homemaker’s Club.
Survivors include her children, Mary (Tim) Mick of Onalaska, Wis., Cedric McDonald of Tomah and Monica (Mike) Fanta of Cazenovia, Wis.; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie and Andrew Mick and Kiersten, Brianna and Jarett Fanta; her brother, Raymond (Lillian) Pisha of Kendall; and her brother-in-law, Joseph McDonald of Hillsboro.
In addition to her husband, Thomas, she was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Michael Thomas; three brothers, Joseph, George and Frank Pisha; and a sister, Dorothy Vanourek.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hillsboro. Burial will be in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery at Mount Tabor.
