One person was injured when a deer collided with his vehicle March 21 in the town of Hillsboro, according to Vernon County Sheriff John B. Spears.
At about 1:45 p.m. Eric Tollackson of Viroqua was driving west on Highway 33/82 west of Town Shop Road when a deer struck the driver’s-side door and front quarter panel. As a result, the vehicle’s side airbags deployed, and Tollackson was injured. Hillsboro Area Ambulance Service transported him to Gundersen St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hillsboro.
The Hillsboro Police Department, the Hillsboro Fire Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol also provided assistance at the scene.
