Letter to the editor: Why don’t Village of Wilton legal notices appear in the County Line?

By Vicki Von Haden | Owner, Hitchin’ Post, Wilton

Have other taxpayers noticed that the Village of Wilton no longer uses the County Line for any public notices — why?  All notices now appear in the Sparta newspaper.  Nothing against the Sparta paper, and I know the village board can designate any paper as their official paper, but why wouldn’t you choose local and support small businesses?  Just look at Wilton Fest; no ad was placed in the County Line highlighting the activities of the Wilton Fest Weekend.  It would be really nice if the village board would reconsider and change back to the County Line.

In recent years, public schools in Wisconsin and across the country have come under intense scrutiny. At issue are some of the most politically engaging, high-stakes issues of our time: what we teach children about race, gender and identity; how we police the line between free speech and anti-discrimination law; and the role of parents in shaping their children’s worldview.
