Because I read this in the County Line, I emailed Jeff and Karyl Lanier, who live in Green Bay and who would be at the Packer game Saturday that Hunter Evenson, the music director at Brookwood, would be singing our National Anthem. They watched, they listened and sent a picture. Because I read this in the County Line, Sunday afternoon at Brookwood, I attended an excellent performance of “Antigone,” a challenging play and an entry in the Wisconsin One-Act Play Festival. Special accolades to Henner Gomez, spotlight operator. Because I read it in the County Line, I took a stroll through Palen Park, Ontario, where countless butterflies flitted from flower to flower and countless flowers were in full, beautiful bloom. No need to go to Butchart Gardens, Vancouver, or arboretums in Madison or Milwaukee. The best is close to home.
