Letter to the editor: Thank you for 40 years of the County Line

It is the Thanksgiving season, so thank you, Karen Parker, for 40 years of marching local news across the pages of the County Line. I wish that I could conclude that it has been a happy time. Well, some of it has been, but last week, I picked up information of several years ago. A 15-year-old had died, and the family was called upon to deal with unbearable grief. Reporting on the especially young who left too soon, I suspect, was one of Karen’s least favorite things to do, but it happened too frequently over the past 40 years. More difficult than dealing with people who might have said something unkind? That probably never happened?

P.S., Even in my tribe, I am sometimes referred to as “Old Kicking Horse.”
