When I opened up your paper and saw the Oden School 1944 picture, I was so thrilled.
The question mark by Loris Frye was me, Nanalee Pacl Heckart. Loris and I were the only first-graders that year. I am the daughter of James and Audrey Breidenstein Pacl. The question mark by Bill Calhoun was Lawrence Hammon, son of Peeler and Pearl Hammon.
Due to two house fires in five years at the John Breidenstein and Ada Hammon Breidenstein homes, all family pictures were lost, including everything else.There were no fire departments back in those days. So it was nice to see what that homely Nanalee Heckart looked like back then, and it’s worse now.
