LeRoy C. Kreiger, 71, died Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Mercy Health System.
The son of Fred and Evelyn (Kinnear) Kreiger, he was born July 17, 1938, in Monroe County. He graduated from Ontario High School. LeRoy married Elaine Hammon on June 10, 1961, in Ontario. LeRoy worked for the Janesville Gazette for 32 years before retiring. After his retirement, LeRoy went to work for West Side Sentry Foods in Janesville, working up until 2009.
LeRoy enjoyed woodworking, crafts and the outdoors. He enjoyed taking trips with his grand-nephews and grand-nieces.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine of Brodhead, Wis.; a sister, Judy (Bob) Jackson of Hillsboro; many nieces and nephews; many grand-nieces and grand-nephews; other relatives and friends; a sister-in-law, Ruth Hammon of Brodhead; and a brother-in-law, Dale (Ethel) Hammon of Beloit. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Deborah Lee Welsh.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, at Avon Cemetery, rural Brodhead, with Rev. Mary Froiland officiating. The Everson Funeral Home, Brodhead, is assisting the family.
