The Kickapoo Valley Reserve will host a program entitled “Outdoor Traditions: Shifting Trends in Hunting” on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the KVR Visitor Center.
Patrick Durkin, a full-time outdoor writer and editor, and Scott Walter, a DNR large-carnivore specialist, will discuss climate change, Lyme disease, politics and the phenomenon of fewer hunters.
Refreshments will be served and socializing will begin at 6:30 p.m., and the talk will start at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public; no registration is required.
The program is part of the KVR’s Driftless Dialogue lecture series and is made possible by a grant from the Kickapoo Valley Reforestation (Nuzum) Fund and the University of Wisconsin-Madison College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.
The KVR Visitor Center is on Highway 131, north of La Farge. For more information, call (608) 625-2960 or email kickapoo.reserve@krm.state.wi.us.
