This time of year, as we drive along the countryside, we can enjoy the beautiful red and gold leaves. Mother Nature is amazing!

The Kendall nutrition site has the following events scheduled for November:

• St. John’s Lutheran Ladies’ Aide will meet Thursday, Nov. 2.

• Since we do not have any November birthdays, Shirley Gorn has graciously agreed to celebrate her July birthday in November, so we can still gather for a good time. As of this publication, a date has not yet been determined.

• Live music will be on Friday, Nov. 17. A fun time was had by all when they came in October, and I’m sure you would have a great time, so please try to join us for lunch and listen to their music. They play bluegrass and country, and their vocals are amazing.

I would like to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving! Our meal site will be closed Thursday (Thanksgiving Day) and on Friday.

This time of year, we must think of the many things that we are thankful for. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the people who have suffered through the severe flooding and the terrible fires that have taken so many lives.

Remember to call the meal site a day ahead if you would like to join us for lunch. We do appreciate our regular participants and would love to see some new faces. We have very good, nutritious meals and good conversation.
