Joy E. Bever, 70, of Wilton was called to her heavenly home Monday, June 17, 2024, at home.
She was born to George and Carol (Woolever) Preuss on July 3, 1953, in Reedsburg. She was a member of the Royall High School graduating class of 1971. On June 14, 1989, Joy was united in marriage to James Bever at Fountain Lutheran Church. James and Joy had two children. He preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 2015.
Joy worked at Toro as an assembler for 35 years prior to her retirement in 2015. She loved gardening; she grew vegetables that she would can, and she had many perennial and annual flower gardens. Every year she and her daughter, Jaime, would visit local area flower shops to find the perfect flowers to plant. Joy had a deep faith; she was baptized, confirmed, and married at the Fountain Lutheran Church. She served on the Ladies Aid and was a past secretary and treasurer. She will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Daniel (Kayla) Bever of Camp Douglas and Jaime (Josh) Von Haden of Wilton; her grandchildren, Brock, Wade and Thea Bever and Adalee and Emery Von Haden; her siblings, Bill (Lisa) Preuss of Wilton, Jean Anderson of Virginia and Jo (Bob) Taylor of Clifton; and her sister-in-law, Beth Preuss. She is further survived by her stepchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law as well as many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Joy was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, David Preuss; and a brother-in-law, Dale Anderson
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at the Fountain Lutheran Church, Church Road, Kendall, WI 54638. Karen Sparling will officiate. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. The Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home is assisting the family.
