Joy A. Evans, 76, of Wilton died Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at Morrow Memorial Home in Sparta.

She was born Oct. 24, 1934, to Evan and Ruth (Ketchum) Lewis in Adams, Wis. She was a member of the Adams-Friendship graduating class of 1952. She was united in marriage to Duane Evans on March 2, 1954, in Dubuque, Iowa. For many years, she enjoyed reading. She loved to travel and was always up to take a trip. Whether it was to Alaska, the Bahamas, or a simple car trip, she was ready to go. She enjoyed shopping and people watching. She was an excellent cook and made many dishes from scratch. She made donuts for many years for the law enforcement meetings. She enjoyed babysitting for the children of the Wilton area for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Duane “Speed”; five children, Greg of Evansville, Wis., Michelle (Marty) Fisher of Adams-Friendship, Wis., and Randy (Lynn), Dan (Jean) and Jamie (Cori) Evans, all of Wilton; 12 grandchildren, Jim (Lisa) Udulutch of St. Germain, Wis., Kim Calhoun of Marshfield, Wis., Amanda (Mike) Larson of Nekoosa, Wis., Lynn (Kevin) Lloyd of Janesville, Matt Evans of Evansville, Caitlin Fisher of Tomah, and Nick, Kalab, Brad, Tyler, Alec and Colton Evans, all of Wilton; six great-grandchildren, Greg, Elizabeth and Brandon Udulutch of St. Germain, Wis., Shyler Calhoun of Nekoosa, Wis., and Kyla and Lacy Lloyd of Janesville; three sisters, Gay Paes of Florida, Jeannie (Pat) Doyle of Lodi, Wis., and Cheri (Roger) Caldwell of Wyoming; two brothers, Rick (Ann) Klein of Fort Atkinson, Wis., and Jim (Marlene) Lewis of Appleton; and numerous, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Wilton. Father Richard C. Dickman will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
