Janice Marie Timm, 83, of La Crosse passed away peacefully Feb. 9, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. 

She was born on May 7, 1940, to Nora (Berg) and Herb Clark in a farmhouse in rural Ontario, Wis. She was raised in Ontario, where she attended grade school and high school. Her senior graduation was held in the historic Ontario Community Hall, where she also had her gym class, school plays, roller skating, and her wedding reception celebrating her marriage to Emil Timm in 1960. She worked for Mobil Oil Company in La Crosse and ended her career after 35 years with The Trane Company in La Crosse. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, and traveling with her girlfriends. 

She is survived by her daughter, Tara (Randy) Cook; her grandchildren, Amanda (Josh) Euler and Marshall (Kinsey) Carter; her great-grandchildren, Ellie, Avalee, and Everett Euler; and her longtime partner, Lynn Sires, and his family. She also is survived by nieces and nephews and many dear friends and loved ones. 

Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Emil; her parents, Nora and Herb Clark; her only sibling, Jerry; her in-laws, Mildred and Arnold Timm; her sister- and brother in-law, Shelby and Gaylord Kasten; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

A special thank-you to the staff in the medical/oncology hospital unit at Gundersen Health System.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason St., Onalaska.  Rev. Robert Streeter will officiate.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.  

Memorials may be given to Tomah Hospice Touch, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and the Ontario Public Library in Ontario, Wis.
