Hugh Murray.jpgHugh Thomas “Bug” Murray, 82, of Kendall died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Mayo Health System in La Crosse.

He was born Oct. 1, 1929, in the town of Glendale, Monroe County, to Hugh and Ethel (Kyes) Murray.

Hugh was united in marriage to Donnaphee Eberhardt on Dec. 1, 1951, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kendall; she preceded him in death Dec. 9, 2009. He later married Alice Leis on Oct. 23, 2010, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Bug lived in Chicago, where he worked for the Chicago-Northwestern Railway for seven years, until 1958, when he moved to Kendall, and he was a longtime dairy farmer.

Survivors include three children, Judy Murray (Dwight Vimont) of Lake Mills, Wis., Cheryl (Greg) Scheeter of Kendall and Tom (Denise) Murray of Kendall; five grandchildren, Luke, Nate, Erica, Joshua and Nicholas; his wife, Alice of Kendall; her children, Curt (Tina) Leis of Ontario, Dean (Pat) Leis of Wilton, Keith (Mary) Leis of Wonewoc, Mark (Dorese) Leis of Ontario, Sharon (Mike) Baldwin of Wilton, Eric Leis of North Freedom, Wis., Chris (Rhonda) Leis of Readstown, Arne (Trish) Leis of Sparta, Lisa Leis of Sparta and Traci Leis of Sparta; and 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

He is further survived by two brothers, David (Eileen) Murray of Kendall and Douglas (Yvonne) Murray of Kendall.

In addition to his wife, Donnaphee, he was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Oka Wilcox and Jayne Corn.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kendall, with Father Richard Dickman officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.Friends may call at the church from 4-7:30 p.m. Monday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday. The Picha Funeral Home in Elroy is assisting the family with arrangements.
