Helen Mae Downing, 83, of Ontario passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at her home.
She was born Feb. 14, 1929, to Clark and Norma (Berg) Hutchens in Ontario. She was united in marriage to Max Downing on June 29, 1946. Together they enjoyed traveling all around the United States.
She is survived by her children, Diana Ryburn of Ontario, Constance Elting of Hampshire, Ill., and Vicki (Rusty) Baie of Waterman, Ill.; a brother, Otis Hutchens; two sisters, LeDale (Allan) Bair and Sandra (Phil Berry) Hutchens; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Max; one son, Ronald C. Downing; one granddaughter, Kristi Adell Bastian; one son-in-law, Bernie Elting; and a brother, Harold Hutchens.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Brush Creek Lutheran Church. Pastor Bob Streeter will officiate. Burial will be at Hilltop Rest Cemetery at a later date.
