“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”
These words from God, to Daniel, over 500 years before the birth of the Lord Jesus are instructive for us today. We are the generation that is “running to and fro.” My, how busy life can become at times! Yet, amidst all of life’s activity and motion, how critical it is to prioritize and purposefully live out our days. Seek to walk, not run, through life … oh, you may need to sprint now and again, but carefully and prayerfully take your steps.
Take time for God each day. Ephesians 5:16 — “Redeeming the time, for the days are evil.”
Every day has 24 hours, 60 minutes to the hour, and 60 seconds to the minute. Open your Bible and your heart to the Word of God. Read and meditate upon God’s truth. Take time each week to go to a church that teaches the Word of God simply and clearly. Take time to talk to God in prayer — about everything. Take time for your mate, your children, your family.
Parents, your children will grow up all too quickly. Color with your kids, go for a walk with them, play catch the ball, push them on the swing, read to them, talk to each other.
Genesis 6:9 — “Noah walked with God.” Do you walk with God? Note Noah walked with God, not God walked with Noah. To walk with God, we must grasp our own sin, repent of it, and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Then live the Christian life following the Lord Jesus our Savior.
In our busy days, know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior and walk daily with Him. In our busy days, learn to honor God with your time. We will not be too busy the day we die and step into eternity.
Hebrews 9:27 — “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”
