Gerald “Jerry” Thomas Barry, 94, of Cashton passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center.

Jerry was born Sept. 8, 1919, to Thomas James and Ella (Bucholz) Barry in Wilton. On Oct. 24, 1945, he married Rita Catherine Schreier, and together they farmed on St. Mary’s Ridge for many years.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 69 years, Rita; five children, Jim (Linda) Barry of Norwalk and their two children, Brian (Holly) Barry and kids Wyatt, Abigail, Waylon, Libby (Kyle) Hauser and kids, Braden, Aubrey Jane; Jane (LaMont “Butch”) Flock of Cashton and their children, Jeff and Todd (Jane) Flock and kids Hunter and Saige; Jeanice Morrison of Sparta and her son, Robert (Linda) Morrison and kids, Beth, Dakota, Cassie, Carissa, Jovey, and Kayla, and Beth’s kids, Frankie, Ricky, and Diego; Julie (John) Field of Rockland and children, Brad (Judy) Biever and kids Dillon, Matthew, Grace; Brent (April) Biever and son, Kendall, and Brody (Jessie) Biever and kids Garrett and Adrianna and Brayden; and Joan (David) Peters of Cashton and their kids, Quincy Peters and kids Brant and McKenzie, and Casey (Kjirsten) Peters and son Hudson; a sister-in-law, Bev Barry of Eau Claire; along with other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Linus; and his sisters, Margaret (Ed) Ackerman and Betty (Gordon) Anderson.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, at the Nativity of The Virgin Mary Catholic Church on St. Mary’s Ridge. Father Tim Oudenhoven will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Family and friends are invited for visitation from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, with a 6 p.m. prayer service, at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Cashton. Visitation also will be held Thursday at the church from 10-11 a.m. The Torkelson Funeral Home of Cashton is assisting the family with arrangements.
