Evelyn R. Kaus, 83, of Kendall died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hillsboro.
She was born Nov. 29, 1928, to Forrest and Frieda (Crouch) Marvin. She was baptized Nov. 29, 1963, and confirmed Feb. 2, 1964, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. On May 29, 1964, Evelyn was united in marriage to Raymond Kaus. He preceded her in death July 4, 2008.
Evelyn worked most of her life on the family farm. She was a faithful and devoted member of St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, South Ridge. In her earlier years, Evelyn was active in the Kendall community. She enjoyed fishing, especially the annual family fishing trip to Birchwood. She was an avid Brewers baseball fan and was always up for playing cards.
She also enjoyed cooking and baking. Delicious cookies and baked goodies were always available for friends and family who stopped by for afternoon visits. She had a kind and gentle spirit. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor during the good times and times of difficulty, her unconditional love for her family, and her amazing resilience during times of failing health. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
She is survived by a son, Raymond F. (Nancy) Kaus of Hillsboro; a son-in-law, Charles Fronk Sr. of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren, Tracy Kaus (Lee Schumacher) of La Farge, Travis (Jeny) Kaus of Hillsboro, Ryan (Sarah) Kaus of Tomah, Andrea (Ben) Kamau of Winona, Minn., Lisa Fronk (Jim Buchanan) of Mindoro, Wis., Renee (Tim) Marshall of Elroy and Charles (Tiffany) Fronk, Jr. of Hillsboro; nine great-grandchildren, Preston Kaus of La Farge, Evvy Kamau of Winona, Minn., Raven and Kambrie Haas and Opal Buchanan, all of Mindoro, Wis., Kalin and Tyler Marshall of Elroy, and Roman and Sophia Fronk of Hillsboro; two step-great-grandchildren, Sammy and Colleen; a brother-in-law, Kenneth (Donna) Kaus of Ontario; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Friedl of Elroy and Irene Siebecker of New Lisbon; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Nancy Fronk; and a brother, Wayne.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, at St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, South Ridge. Pastor Steven Neumann will officiate. Burial will be in the Glendale Cemetery, Kendall.
