Elroy meal site will have special Valentine’s Day dinner

By KAREN NELSON | Elroy meal-site manager

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone. Make sure you tell your special someone that he or she is extra special and cared about.

We will have a special menu on Valentine’s Day. It will be smothered pork chops with mushroom gravy, and the dessert will be chocolate lava cake with ice cream. Treat that special someone to a meal and bring them to the Elroy meal site. Call ahead and let us know you will be coming.

I’m sure we are all wishing for a pleasant winter with not too much snow or cold weather. I’ll bet the snowmobilers and ice fishermen are wishing for snow and cold. Maybe we could have just a short spell of snow and cold to keep everyone happy.

Out-of-town bus trips are offered every Friday. Check with the Mauston Aging and Disability Resource Center office at 847-9371 to see where they are going and to reserve a seat.

To everyone with a birthday in February, have a happy birthday.

Remember that the meal sites can always use volunteers, even if it is to just fill in occasionally.

The sharing supper at the Elroy Methodist Church will be the last Wednesday in February. This is an excellent chance to get out of the house for a few hours to meet with old friends or maybe meet some new ones.

The Juneau County Senior Nutrition Program invites all seniors age 60 and older to participate in the senior dining program. Meals are served at 11:45 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Home-delivered meals are available; just call themeal site at 462-5175 to make arrangements. The suggested donation is $3.75.

Bingo is played every day at the Elroy meal site starting at 11 a.m. Check with the other meal sites to see what activities they have going on.
