Once again, we near the end of another year, and we all ask, where did the year go? We had a lot of rain, and along with that came all the flooding. Thankfully we did not lose any lives. We think we have it bad, and then we see the wildfires out in California, and we can say thank you that we didn’t have it any worse than we did. Let’s keep all of them in our thoughts and prayers.

I want to wish everyone a blessed, merry Christmas and happy New Year. May you all take time to enjoy the special moments with family and friends.

This year, Larry Ormson will sponsor the Christmas dinner at the Elroy senior meal site on Tuesday, Dec. 18. Make sure to call 462-5175 to make a reservation, and don’t forget to thank Larry if you see him around town. The madrigal choir from Royall High School will sing for everyone and do a sing along, too. They will start singing at 11 a.m., and we will eat at 11:45 a.m.

Out-of-town bus trips are offered every Friday. Check with the Mauston ADRC office at 847-9371 to see where they are going and to reserve a seat.

To everyone with a birthday in December, have a happy birthday.

Remember that the meal sites can always use volunteers, even if it is to just fill in occasionally.

The Juneau County Senior Nutrition Program invites all seniors age 60 and older to participate in the senior dining program. Meals are served at 11:45 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Home-delivered meals are available; just call the meal site at 462-5175 to make arrangements. The suggested donation is $3.75.

Bingo is played every day at the Elroy meal site starting at 11 a.m. Check with the other meal sites to see what activities they have going on.
