Edith E. Baldwin, 92, of Valley, Wis., passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at the Norseland Nursing Home in Westby, Wis.

She was born Sept. 12, 1930, to Claude and Ella (Marshall) Roach in Hillsboro. Edith was united in marriage to George “Dick” Baldwin on May 19, 1948, at Mount Pisgah Church.

They raised their family and dairy farmed in the town of Forest for many years. He preceded her in death Aug. 18, 2008.

Edith was an avid gardener and raised very large gardens. She also enjoyed all kinds of animals at her home on the farm. She was a member of the Valley Homemakers and the Valley/Burr Wesleyan Church.

Survivors include her children, Ilene (Myron) Ledvina, Danny (Donna) Baldwin, Sharon Fiske (Lloyd Hauge), Jerry Baldwin, Peter Baldwin, Katherin (Gordon) Roesler, Molly (Timothy) Pettit and Christy (Dennis) Larsen; a daughter-in-law, Esther Baldwin; 26 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Shirley Dittman, Mabel (Gary) Jergensen and Connie Meseberg. 

In addition to her husband, George “Dick” Baldwin, she was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Billy Baldwin; her son-in-law, Michael Fiske; an infant grandson, Timothy Dale Pettit; a great-grandson, Austin Baldwin; an infant great-grandson, David Baldwin; and an infant great-granddaughter, Hannah Ottum.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, at Burr Wesleyan Church, with Rev. Alan Tripp officiating. Burial will be in the Forest–Burr Cemetery.
