Dustin Ehren Thomas, 26, of Villa Park, Ill., passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, as a result of a snowmobile accident.

He was born Feb. 13, 1983, to Jeffrey and Jamie Thomas in Roseburg, Ore. Dustin met Shanna Thieman, the love of his life, while she was going to school in Chicago. They fell in love and were united in holy matrimony two years ago. In January of this year, they moved from Bloomingdale, Ill., to Ontario.

Dustin had a spice for life! (He even put hot sauce on everything he ate.) This spice manifested in the diverse skills and talents he had. He played guitar and sang while leading worship at New Hope Community Church in Villa Park, Ill. His creative abilities were amazing; he loved to write and he could build or fix almost anything. He was a compassionate, generous and kind person who will be extremely missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Shanna; his mother, Jamie Thomas of Villa Park, Ill.; his brother, Jason Thomas of Villa Park, Ill.; his sisters, Jileena Thomas of Villa Park, Ill., and Darcie and her husband, Andy Peck, of Arthur, Ill., and their son, Alexander Peck; his grandmother, Joy Thomas of Illinois; his grandfather, Oscar (Phyllis) Thomas of Illinois; Shanna’s loving family; and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey; and his grandparents, Ervin and Loreena Thomas.

A celebration of Dustin’s life will be on his 27th birthday, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at New Hope Community Church in Villa Park. Pastor Mike Klamecki and Pastor Bruce Milleman will officiate. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church. The Torkelson Funeral Home of Ontario is assisting the family with arrangements.
