Doris M. Calhoun, 93, of Pewaukee, Wis., formerly of Onalaska, was born into eternal life Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the Legacy Assisted Living Center in Pewaukee. 

She was born Oct. 12, 1930, to William and Leelah (Bickel) Carr in Valley, Wis. She was a member of the Hillsboro High School graduating class of 1948. Doris was united in marriage to Donald Calhoun on June 14, 1952, in Valley, Wis. He preceded her in death Oct. 27, 2008. 

Doris was an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering for the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time taking walks and putting puzzles together. 

Doris and Don spent numerous winters as snowbirds in Destin, Fla., after Don’s retirement. She was a member of the Onalaska United Methodist Church and the Red Hats Society. She enjoyed spending time going to her grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Greg (Brenda) Calhoun of Waukesha, Wis.; two grandchildren, Amy (Andrew) Wintheiser, and Kyle (Amanda) Calhoun; and a great-granddaughter Savanna, all of Pewaukee. She is further survived by a brother-in-law, William (Dee) Calhoun; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Calhoun; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Buford, Mack, Keith, Larry and Kenneth Carr; a brother-in-law, Wayne Calhoun; and a sister-in-law, Jeanette Berg.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 3, at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St., Tomah. Pastor Deede will officiate. Burial will be in Hilltop Cemetery.
