Donna K. Powell, 70, of Ontario passed away Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, at Vernon Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 2, 1942, to Roland and Harriet Powell in Ontario. She attended Ontario Grade School.
She was very proud of the Powell family farm and was honored to receive the 100-year Century Farm Award. Donna was a family person and cherished every moment with her mother, father, sister and brothers. She enjoyed music by Tor Eness and his group; she counted the days before each musical act. She also liked to watch TV, especially “Dr. Phil,” “The Ellen Degeneres Show” and “Happy Joe’s Polka.”
Donna will be deeply missed by her remaining siblings, Anita Gibson of Ontario, David (Lisa) Powell of Wilton and Jim (Nancy) Powell of Ontario; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two nephews, Adam and Travis; one niece, Terri; and a brother-in-law, Bill.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Ontario. Pastor Bob Streeter will officiate. Burial will follow at a later date. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. The family has requested that memorials be given in Donna’s memory.
