Donald Eugene Watters Sr., 74, of Mundelein, Ill., passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021.
He was born Aug. 27, 1946, in Viroqua, Wis., to Chester Watters Sr. and Hazel (Owen) Watters. Don owned and operated Spirit Automotive in Lake Forest, Ill., for many years. He loved NASCAR and rarely missed a race.
Don is survived by his children, Donald E. Watters Jr. (Kelly) of Cashton, Janey L. Watters (Justin) of Sparta, and Michael D. Watters (Jenny) of Sparta; his stepdaughters, Lynette Roemer (Kurt) of Glenview, Ill., and Lisa Tyran (Chris) of Chattaroy, Wash.; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his brother, Tom Watters (Dorothy) of Sparta; his sister, Peggy Bradley of Elroy; his sister, Diane Weiss (Roger) of Tomah; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudia Watters (Rinaldo); his mother, Hazel Kleinschrodt; his father, Chester Watters Sr.; his stepfather, Dennis Kleinschrodt; his brother, Chet Watters; his sister, Carol Watters; his nephew, Aaron Watters; and his beloved dog, Rebel.
A celebration of life will be held for the family on a later date.
