Donald Eugene Rumpee of St. Pauls, N.C., formerly of Ontario, passed away, Feb. 11, 2011, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Fayetteville, N.C.
He was born March 30, 1946, in La Crosse. He served seven years in the United States Army, including three tours in Vietnam. After serving his country, he spent 30 years as an over-the-road truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his son, Eric Allan Rumpee; his mother, Fern Conant; and his father, Maxwell Conant.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Rumpee, of St. Pauls, N.C.; two sons, Robert McMillan and Donald Rumpee II of St. Pauls; one daughter, Angela Ward of St. Pauls; five grandchildren, Courtney, Donald, Mackenzie, Drake and Madison; and two great-grandchildren, Lilly and Jaicee.
He was laid to rest at Sandhill State Veterans Cemetery near Fort Bragg, N.C.
