Dolly J. Pesik, 98, of Kendall passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, at the Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse.
She was born Jan. 20, 1916, to Royal and Lilly (Altwize) Cox at home on a farm between Mount Tabor and Trippville. Dolly was united in marriage to Jake Pesik on Nov. 17, 1932, at Burr Ridge. They had five children: Sylvia Ann (Pesik) Woodard, Bobby Pesik, Richard Pesik, Eugene Pesik and Donna Mae (Pesik) Bateman.
Dolly worked at home, raising her children and working in her large garden, canning and helping with the farm work. She worked at Tillman’s Produce for 10 years. They bought a farm outside of Kendall, where she lived for 50 years. She worked at Ray-O-Vac for 17 years and retired in 1981. She then worked for Monroe County Services with home care for four years. At the age of 72, she stayed at home and went back to gardening and keeping her lawn well kept. She also pieced many quilts in her time spent indoors. She was a member of the Faith Independent Baptist Church in Ontario. She moved to Kendall Senior Housing in 2006. She lived there for her remaining days.
Survivors include her daughter, Sylvia Woodard of Kendall; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed by many other relatives and friends.
Preceded her in death were her parents; her husband, Jake, on March 27, 1979; an infant son, Bobby; two sons, Richard and Eugene; a daughter, Donna; two brothers, Jim and Roy Cox; and a great-great-grandchild, Ocean Decise.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, at Faith Independent Baptist Church in Ontario, with Pastor Mike Gjefle officiating. Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery.
